Road Work
Darren C. LeBrun, P.E., P.S., Scioto County Engineer, announced the work schedule for the week September 17,
2018 through September 21, 2018 for the Engineer’s Department. All dates shown are weather permitting.
COUNTY CREW WORK
BERM REPAIR
Duck Run Road (CR33) in Rush Township at the 1.622 mile marker will have lane restrictions on Monday,
September 17th. County Engineer’s crew will be repairing the berm. Traffic will be maintained with the use of
flaggers.
CHIP AND SEAL
Big Bear Creek Road (CR32) in Morgan and Rarden Townships on Tuesday, September 18th and Wednesday,
September 19th.
Sedan – Crabtree Road (CR34) in Morgan Township on Thursday, September 20th.
Traffic will be maintained with the use of flaggers.
MOWING
Houston Hollow – Long Run Road in Clay and Jefferson Townships.
Rosemount Road in Clay Township.
Woods Ridge Road in Clay and Harrison Townships.
High Street and Swauger Valley Road in Harrison Township.
Lucasville – Minford Road in Jefferson, Madison and Valley Townships.
Piketon Road in Madison Township.
Flatwood – Fallen Timber Road in Jefferson Township.
COUNTY/TOWNSHIP PAVING
Rush Township
Waddell Road (TR141) and Sheep Ranch Hollow Road (TR371) on Monday, September 17th.
Washington Township
Galena Pike (CR482) on Tuesday, September 18th. (Drag patching over installed culverts)
Nile Township
Tipton Road (TR323) on Tuesday, September 18th and Wednesday, September 19th.
Valley Township
Cook Road (CR30) on Wednesday, September 19th through Saturday, September 22nd.
The Shelly Company will be doing the paving. One lane will be maintained by flaggers.
COUNTY/TOWNSHIP IMPROVEMENTS
Cook Road (CR30) in Valley Township at the 1.20 mile marker continues to be closed through Monday, October
8th. Allard Excavating is doing a vertical curve realignment. The project will be closed to through traffic, local
traffic only will have access.
Greenbrier Road (CR171) in Jefferson Township at the 0.12 mile marker will be closed beginning Monday,
September 17th. The road will be closed to all traffic day and night. Allard Excavating will be replacing a bridge.
Mill Road (TR262) bridge in Porter Township was open to traffic Friday, August 31st.
VETERANS MEMORIAL HIGHWAY IMPACTS
Pershing Avenue (TR1193) in Porter Township continues to be closed through Saturday, September 15th
Portsmouth Joint Venture is working on bridge 5 and 6 deck pours/approach slabs, drainage installation, 204/304
placement, paving, median barrier wall and reconstruction of Pershing Avenue and utilities. The location of the
construction is east of Slocum Avenue. Local traffic will be detoured to Marne Avenue. Emergency vehicles will
be accommodated if necessary.
Lucasville – Minford Road (CR28) in Madison Township continues to have intermittent flagging, as needed,
through Saturday, September 29th. Portsmouth Joint Venture will be utilizing intermittent flagging for
miscellaneous bridge and pavement work. There will be a minimum of one lane of traffic. The location of the
flagging is near Flowers – Ison Road (TR381) intersection.
Shumway Hollow Road (TR234) in Harrison Township continues to be closed through Saturday, December 15th.
Portsmouth Joint Venture closed the road for the purpose of off-road waste hauling.
Morris Lane – Blue Run Road (CR54) in Jefferson Township continues to have intermittent flagging through
Saturday, September 29th. The location of the closure is between Flatwood – Fallen Timber Road (CR184) and
Blue Run Township Road (TR182). Portsmouth Joint Venture will be using the flagging for miscellaneous bridge
and pavement work.
Ohio River Road (CR503) in Porter Township continues to have intermittent flagging operations through Saturday,
September 29th. The location of the flagging is between State Route 140 and Egbert Street. Portsmouth Joint
Venture is doing miscellaneous bridge and pavement work. One lane will be maintained at all times and
Emergency vehicles will be accommodated.
