Final Friday: ‘Welcome to Portsmouth’
Final Friday events have become an important summertime tradition in Portsmouth and the Boneyfiddle area. The last Friday of each warm-weather month is set aside for live music, vendors, and an opportunity for fellowship within the community.
Friday, June 29th is no different. ‘Welcome to Portsmouth’, which runs from 5:30 to 10PM, will feature a plethora of live music, special guest cameos, food, vendors, and much more. And it is all hosted by Robert Black on Market Street Square.
Entertainment includes the Poverty String Band, Schultz Creek, Dana Romenello, Tom Stiverson, Jeff Valentine, Andy Russell, Rob Black, Ryan Hunt, Shelby Moore, Sasha Colette, Micah Kesslring, Zeke and Scott Mullins, Boyd Williams, Darrell Sallee, Casey Smith and Brian Edwards.
There will also be special cameo performances by Todd Hehl, Portsmouth legend Rich Moon, and Don Smith.
In addition, this month’s Boneyfiddle Beautification Award will be presented to the Portsmouth Motorcycle Club. The club is the oldest cycling club in America and has been located in Boneyfiddle since the 1940s. In recent years, they have renovated their building and really made Alexandria Point a beautiful place to visit.
“Over the past few years, they really stepped up and made improvements to the clubhouse at Alexandria Point!” wrote Rob Black on his Facebook Page.
The award presentation will begin at 7PM.
