COLUMBUS MAN ARRESTED FOR BURGLARY
Scioto County Sheriff Marty V. Donini announces that his 911 center received a call on Saturday June 9 , 2018 from a McDermott residence stating that someone had entered there attached garage while they were sleeping and stole a Honda Pioneer side by side.
Sheriff Marty V. Donini stated that deputy’s responded to this location where a report was taken and several witnesses were interviewed that resulted in this report being forwarded to a detective for a follow-up investigation.
Captain John W. Murphy stated that detectives were able to obtain information that the stolen side by side was in a wooded area off of Perry Road in Otway. On Monday June 11, 2018 detectives were able to locate the stolen vehicle valued at $19,500.00 with the assistance from the Ohio State Highway Patrol. During this investigation detectives received information that the suspects had been staying at a trailer located on State Route 73. Detectives responded to this location that resulted in a search of the residence where one of the suspects was located and detained for questioning. During this search drugs and money were confiscated which will result in more charges being presented to the Scioto County Grand Jury on a later date.
Arrested was Zack Nelson, age 18 of Columbus, Nelson has been charged with one count of aggravated burglary a felony of the 2nd degree and is currently being held in the Scioto County jail on a $ 100,000.00 bond and will appear in Portsmouth Municipal Court on Tuesday June 12, 2018
