Minford man arrested on burglary charges

Scioto County Sheriff Marty V. Donini announces that his office received a call on Thursday April 5, 2018 from a Glades Road Minford residence reporting that his house and garage had been broken into several times in the last few days and that several items were missing to include firearms. Deputies responded to this location which resulted in a report being filed and forwarded to detectives for an investigation. Captain John W. Murphy stated that during this investigation detectives were able to identify a possible suspect that resulted in recovering all of all the stolen items. After the location of the stolen items deputies and detectives responded to the suspect’s home on Friday April 6, 2018 located on High Street in Minford where no one answered the door. While leaving the residence detective Kirk Jackson spotted the suspect vehicle traveling on Lucasville Minford Road and was able to initiate a traffic stop that resulted in the suspect being detained without incident. Arrested was Robert Porter age 31 of 844 High Street Minford Ohio, Porter has been charged with 3 counts of burglary a felony of the 3rd degree, 3 counts of theft of firearm a felony of the 3rd degree and 3 counts of breaking & entering a felony of the 5th degree. Porter is currently being held in the Scioto County jail on an $82,500.00 bond. Captain John W.
