Violet Ann Collins

Violet Ann Collins, 88, of Portsmouth, a former Lucasville resident, died Friday, May 8, 2026 at SOMC Hospice.

She was born December 7, 1937 in Greenup, Kentucky, a daughter of the late William and Stella Kiser Musser. Violet was a retired employee of Edwards and Clare Dry Cleaners and of the Baptist faith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Shirley Riffe; three sons, Ray Wilburn, Gary Collins, and Larry Collins; four sisters, Ida Mae Samples, Vada Fodge, Vada Long, and Augusta Manis; and four brothers, George Musser, Kenneth Musser, Harve Musser, and Leonard Musser.

Violet is survived by a son, Andy Wilburn of Portsmouth; three daughters, Barbara (Albert) Tucker of Portsmouth, Connie (Ronnie) Sheets of Lucasville, and Debra (James) Hall of Otway; seven grandchildren, Katie Lewis, Amy Collins, Jenifer Wilburn, Alysia Conkel, Tiffany Clements, Bronson Wilburn, and Brittany Hayslip; and many loved great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Tuesday, May 12, 2026 and the McKinley Funeral Home, with Bob Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Cooper Cemetery. Friends may call from 11:30 am until the services Tuesday at the funeral home.
