Ruth Mae Wilkins

Ruth Mae Wilkins, 98, of Lake Caroline, Virginia, a former Pike County resident, passed away Saturday, May 17, 2025 at Brookedale Senior Living where she had been residing since June 2023.

     She was born October 15, 1926 in Wheelersburg, a daughter of the late William McKinley Holsinger and Anna Allen Holsinger Adams. Ruth was a 1944 Stockdale High School graduate and career employee with the Viriginia State Attorney’s office prior to retiring and becoming owner/operator of Hickory Road Market in Petersburg, Virginia.

     In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Boyd Warren Wilkins on June 25, 2002; two brothers, William “Bill” Holsinger and Leonard “Jim” Holsinger; three sisters, Louise Cummings, Josephine Saunders, and Joyce Ann Strehl; and a daughter, Sandra Landes.

     Ruth is survived by her son, Steven Wilkins of Blufton, South Carolina; two grandchildren, Scott Caricofe and Dena Tremain; four great-grandchildren Jackie Gorman, David Tremain, Ryan Tremain and Hunter Lindstrom ; and two brothers, Delbert Holsinger and Tim Holsinger.

     Graveside services will be conducted at 12:00 noon on Saturday, May 24, 2024, at the Hall-Holsinger Cemetery on Hunting Run Road in Pike County. Services are under the direction of the McKinley Funeral Home in Lucasville.
