Brenda Susan Asbury Church

Brenda Susan Asbury Church, 61, of Piketon, Ohio passed away Monday, December 9, 2024 at her home. She was born May 18, 1963 in Williamson, West Virginia to the late Walter (Julia) Asbury and Juanita (Bill) Johnson DeHeart.  She was united in marriage to Wayne Church who preceded her in death in 2003.  Surviving are a son, Patrick (Chrissy) Church; grandchildren, Madison Church and Jaxon Church; sisters, Sanda Sincell, Nell Labby, Melissa Kitchens and Julie Asbury Smith; brother, Walter (Karen) Asbury; and step-sister, Alicia Church; and many nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a brother, Randy Asbury; sister, Kathy Daniels; step-sisters, Kathy Blevins and Sandra Kay Jones; nephews, Jimmy “Buddy” Sincell Jr., Andrew Asbury and Gary Church Jr.; a niece, Shawnee Lynn Church and her grandparents, Earl and Lula Johnson.

Brenda was married to the love of her life, Wayne, for 24 years.  She was an LPN charge nurse at Williamson Memorial Hospital in Williamson, West Virginia.  She was a native of Matewan, West Virginia and lived her life in Thacker with her husband and son.  She studied at Southern West Virginia Community and Technical College.  She attended Matewan High School class of 1980/1981.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 14, 2024 at Botkin Hornback Funeral Home in Waverly.  The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
