Janice Delores Fannin Wright

Janice Delores Fannin Wright, age 87, was born on November 8, 1936 on Pleasant Avenue in Portsmouth, Ohio to Paul and Lilian Wolfe Fannin.

A graduate of Clay High School, she married Luther Wright on October 15, 1955 and spent 54 years with him before his passing in 2009.

Janice lived most of her life in good ol’ Rubyville where she raised her children while helping her husband with the business side of Wrights Chain Link Fence. Early in their marriage they lived in Germany for a year where she was sometimes mistaken for a movie star. She had a gift for throwing the most magical Christmas parties and her elegant tables were beautiful. She was an avid fan of Cherry Cordial Ice Cream, even enjoying small bites earlier this week.

She is survived by her children and their spouses, Stacy & Tony Hempill and Andy & Amy Wright; her grandchildren, Emily Hempill, Katie Hempill (Keith), Holly Hempill (Rosa), Grant Hempill (Anna) and Madi Wright; her sister, Brenda (Steve) Fitch; sister-in-law Karen Fannin; and her Wright in-laws, Claude Wright, Hazel Montgomery Adkins, and Julie Wright.

Also preceded her in death were siblings Helen (Ralph) McKenzie, Betty (Jim) Goodman, Richard Fannin, and the brother she finally gets to meet in Heaven, Tunis Fannin.

A Graveside service will be planned for a later date.

For a memorial, the family asks that you invite a friend or family member to go for a long drive and admire the beauty of spring~as Janice loved to do. Add some Frank Sinatra music and sing along even if you get the words wrong! Take a minute to enjoy this life while you have it. Use the good dishes and wear the pearls. This is not a dress rehearsal.

Arrangements are under the direction of the McKinley Funeral Home in Lucasville.
