Michael Dean Reed

Michael Dean Reed, 65, of Circleville, passed away Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at his residence.

He was born May 27, 1958 in Portsmouth, a son of the late Clifford and Lovetta Deatley Reed, one of 6 children.

After graduating from Portsmouth High School in 1976, Michael proudly served in the United States Navy between 1976 and 1981. Coming back to Ohio in 1981and marrying his bride of 43 years, they had a son in 1982. He became a proud grandfather in the month of May 2008. He retired from the United States Postal Service as a Columbus City mail route carrier.

The last few months of his life, Mike lived as the richest man you would ever know. Rededicating his faith in Christ, George baptized him for a second time since his naval service. He enjoyed the company of his sister and brother-in-law who visited regularly (Donna and Tagg). He renewed his vows to his wife Becky and passed away leaving a legacy to his son Rick and great love for his granddaughter Ariel.

Michael was also preceded in death by his grandparents, George and Hazel, David and Nellie, and his brother, Lowel.

Michael is survived by his wife, Rebecca Ann Bogan Reed; his son, Richard Michael Reed of Circleville; his granddaughter Ariel Nicole Reed; his brother, Roger Reed of Tennessee; and three sisters, Helen Grant of Chillicothe, Donna (Tagg) DeVillez of Hamilton, OH and Mary (Tim) Brown of Wheelersburg, OH

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 24, 2024 at the McKinley Funeral Home in Lucasville with George Vastine officiating. Burial will follow in Lucasville Cemetery where military graveside rites will be performed by the William Baker and James F. Irwin Posts of the American Legion. Friends may call from 12 Noon until the funeral hour Sunday at the funeral home.
