Shelby Maxine Wiseman

Shelby Maxine Wiseman, 87 of Waverly, passed away on Wednesday, March 13, 2024 at SOMC Hospice in Portsmouth.  She was born on December 28, 1936 in Buchanan to the late George Sharp and Hazel Irene Newland Sharp.  On April 10, 1960 she was united in marriage to Paul Wiseman who preceded her in passing on November 22, 1997.  Surviving are her children; Danny (Martha) Wiseman of Piketon, Melanie (Danny) Neal of Waverly and Lisa (Jim) Martin of Wheelersburg; grandchildren, Andrea Wiseman of Waverly, Betsy Martin of Sciotoville, Garet (Bree) Martin of Columbus, Ashley (Glenn) Johnson of Waverly, Amber Neal of Waverly, Blake Wiseman of Piketon and McKenzie Wiseman of Chillicothe; great grandchildren, Brice, Breannah, Mieka and Ezra; sister, Cecelia (Stephen) Slone of Waverly; brother in laws, Rodney Leeth of Waverly and Dale Wiseman of Florida and sister in law Karen Wiseman of Waverly.  In addition to her parents and husband, Shelby was preceded in passing by sisters; Wanda Sharp, Betty Scott and Patsy Leeth.

Shelby retired after 32 years from the Village of Piketon Police Department.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at Botkin Hornback Funeral Home in Waverly with Pastor Jeff May officiating with burial following in Mt. Latham Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 19, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home and for one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.  The family would like to extend a special thank you to SOMC Hospice for the care they provided to Shelby in her final days.
