Jonathan Wesley Fout

Jonathan Wesley Fout, 49, of Waverly, Ohio was called to his Heavenly home surrounded by family on Sunday March 10, 2024 at 8:50 p.m. Wes was born July 26, 1974 in Chillicothe, Ohio son of the late Jonathan Ray Fout and Jeanette Lynn Neal (Reinsmith).  Wes is survived by his wife of 24 years, Erin Lynn Fout (Sparks) and sons, Jonathan Clay Fout and James Carter Fout; mother, Jeanette Neal (Reinsmith); sister, Erika (Jason) Adkins; grandmothers, Berneta (Minnie) Fout and Darlene Lykins; father and mother in law, James (Cobie) and Debbie Sparks; aunts, Sandy Reinsmith, Vanessa Burkitt, Heidi (Jeremy) Isaac, Sandy Fout and Bev (Kenny) Randolph; uncle, Sherm Reinsmith; brother and sister in law, Jamie and Jennifer Martin; brother in law, Joey (Ripley) Sparks; nephews and nieces, JJ (Lily) Adkins, Ben Adkins, Matt and Mady Martin, Emma Adkins, Piper and Kyler Sparks, and Justin and Hope Waulk; and many other beloved friends and family.  Wes was preceded in death by his grandfather, Raymond (Shorty) Fout; father, Jonathan Ray Fout; grandfather, Norman (Red) Reinsmith; grandmother, Millie Reinsmith; uncles, Robert Fout, Tom Reinsmith and Donald Fout; and cousin, Jeremy Fout.

Wes was a 1992 graduate of Eastern High School and attended Wilmington College.  He was employed by Flour BWXT in Piketon, Ohio and worked on his family farm with his sons Carter and Clay, father in law, Cobie and family friend, Drake Howard.  Wes was an honest man loved by so many.  Wes loved his wife and sons and fur baby Dover.  He was a fighter and spent the last 14 months battling stage 4 esophageal cancer.  He was a quiet man, when he wasn’t at his job you could find him on the farm in the barn, on his excavator, fixing fence or feeding his cattle.  Wes looked forward to planting and harvest time each year.  He enjoyed being a 4-H advisor for the Town and Country 4-H Club and always looked forward to fair week.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 14, 2024 at Botkin Hornback Funeral Home in Waverly with Pastor David Conley officiating.  Burial will follow in Beaver Union Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday March 13th at the funeral home, and for one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
