Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of forty years Dianna (Holbrook) Potter; one brother, Mike (Susan) Potter of Columbus, OH; two sisters, Lisa (Jay) Hatton of Frankfort, OH, and April (Dale) Thacker of South Shore, KY; one nephew, who he thought of as a son, Colten, and two nieces, who he thought of as daughters, Katherine and Olivia; along with several other nieces, nephews, family, and friends, who will sadly miss him.

He grew up where hard work was the norm, from working in the tobacco fields to delivering newspapers at a young age. Clyde was a 1979 graduate of Greenup County High School, an Army National Guard Veteran, owner of CP’s Auto Parts, Manager of Rich Oil (west side) and Speedway (Portsmouth) for years, later a Dispatch Manager for Fee Corp., and most currently a clerk at SSBC and AM/PM Stores. He was an avid bowler, animal lover, and sports fan (Reds and Bengals). He shared his love for sports through coaching the youth.

His true passion was dirt track racing (#31), where his dad was his crew chief and biggest fan. Even after a late night at the dirt track he would get up early the next morning to go golfing with his brother and close friend, Larry. Although Clyde didn’t have any children, he was like a father to many. Clyde had a heart of gold, those who knew him loved him. He was a loyal, loving, and giving friend to many.
