Leanne Kinker Johnson

Leanne Kinker Johnson, 51, of South Webster, passed away on Thursday, January 11, 2024, at Southern Ohio Medical Center. She was born on January 10, 1973, in Portsmouth, the daughter of Daniel F. Kinker of South Webster and the late Wanda Lee Reed Kinker.

Leanne worked for many years at the Portsmouth WesBanco where she was Vice-President and BCM-Business Development. She also served as the Chief Operations Officer at Shawnee Counseling Center. Leanne was a very selfless woman who believed in giving back to her community, friends and family. She was a very active volunteer and former board member at the 14th Street Community Center, where she co-founded the Watch Me Grow program and she was a former board member of the Portsmouth American Red Cross.

A 1991 graduate of South Webster High School, she received a Bachelor of English from Shawnee State University. While at SSU, she was heavily involved with the Arts and Humanities Department, including The Silhouette programming.

In addition to her father, Daniel F. Kinker, Leanne is survived by her children, Ali (Alex) Valdivieso of Lewis Center, Nathan Alan Hadsell of South Webster, Bobbi Johnson and Jessi Johnson, both of Wheelersburg; her former husband and dear friend, Joe Johnson of South Webster; a brother, Casey (Elyse) Kinker of Ponte Vedra, FL; a sister-in-law, Jodi Gordan Kinker of Jackson; four grandchildren, Hattie Lykins, Theo and Asa Valdivieso and Iverson “Ivy” Hadsell; and nieces and nephews, Kylie Fenton, Kaleb, Alex, Aiden and Cole Kinker.

Leanne was preceded in death by her mother, Wanda Kinker; and two brothers, Scott and Timothy Kinker.

Funeral Services will be held at noon on Thursday, January 18, 2024, at the Ralph F. Scott Funeral Home in Portsmouth with Pastor Dean Kuhn officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5 to 8 P.M. and on Thursday from 11 A.M. until the funeral hour.
