Karen A Tolliver

Karen A Tolliver passed away from her battle with cancer on November 24, 2023. She is no longer in pain but greatly missed. Karen was born July 15, 1944 to late Lucy (Bloomfield) Mellberg and Robert Foreman. Karen is survived by her soulmate of 41 years her husband Kelley Tolliver.

In addition to her husband Karen is survived by a daughter Teresa A (George) Hart-Horsley, a son John (Joanne) Hart, Step-daughter’s Pam (Doug) Penwell, Karen Gregory and Step-son John (Missy) Tolliver and sister-in-law Wanda (Ray) Parker.

Grandchildren: Dirk (Rebecca) Chaney-Zimmerman, Kelley (Heather) Penwell, Amanda (Ricky) Elliott, Britton (Christina) Penwell, Levi Tolliver, John Abner, Brandon (Nichole) Horsley, Andrew, Jake and Nick (Brandy) Osburn, Zach (Mattie) Lewis, Josh Lewis and Aaron (Brittany) Lewis.  Nephew: Brandon Moore

Great Grandchildren:  Claire Chaney-Zimmerman, Koleton, Audrina, Briar, Atleigh, Brantlee, Ezra Penwell, Ashlyn and Aubree Elliott, Shealynn Tolliver, Bentley and Baylee Love, Gracie Jo Horsley, Addison, Chloe, Peyton  Osburn, Mark, Ben and Caroline Lewis and her lifelong friends, Marilyn Locke and Marilyn Hart.

Karen was proceeded in death by her parents, Step-dad Earl Mellberg, a brother Fred Foreman and Grandson’s Jonathan and Tyler (Ty) Tolliver-Abner and nephews Joseph and Andy Foreman.

Karen enjoyed gardening. She could grow just about anything. She loved spending time with her grandkids making cupcakes and cookies.  She was known to them as Granny or Grinny as Dirk used to say.

A special thanks to Dannette Parker, Cheryl Levin and Shonda Whitmore (and staff) for looking after mom. I truly don’t know what we would have done without you.

Karen has requested only a graveside service.  The service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 29th at Smith Hill Cemetery. Following the graveside services, there will be a Celebration of Life for Karen at Elm Grove Church of Christ on Chenoweth Fork Road.
