George William Mosley

George William Mosley, 87, of Portsmouth, died Friday, November 24, 2023 at Hillview Retirement Center. He was born December 3, 1935 in Portsmouth, to the late Ralph and Ethel (Wear) Mosley.

George was a 1953 graduate of Portsmouth High School and retired from Dayton Walther as a Foreman.  After retirement, George drove a van for the Scioto County Senior Center, making sure each passenger felt special.

George loved his fishing trips and rooting for the Cleveland Browns. He will be missed by his friends, family, and the gang at Hillview Healthcare where he could always be found sitting on the couch in the lobby helping the girls work, whether they needed it or not.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon (Richter) Mosley, a sister, Janet Mosley, and three brothers, Ralph, Russell, and Daniel Mosley.

He is survived by his two children, Vicki Montavon (Gary) of Wheelersburg and Tim Mosley (Julie) of Lucasville, three grandchildren, Dr. Amy Heim (Adam), Ryan Mosley (Jayna), and Matt Montavon, and a sister-in-law, Bonnie Mosley of Circleville.

Funeral services will be 12:00 P.M. Monday, November 27, 2023 at Melcher Hammer Funeral Home in Portsmouth. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Franklin Furnace. A visitation for friends and family will be on Monday, one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
