David James Bender Jr.

David James Bender Jr., 25, of West Portsmouth, passed away Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at Cabell Huntington Hospital as a result of a motor vehicle accident.

He was born May 19, 1998 in Portsmouth, a son of Darlene Pertuset Kritzwiser of Portsmouth and the late David James Bender Sr.

David was a member of the Laborer’s Union Local #423 of Columbus and a 2017 Northwest High School graduate.

He is also survived by his wife, Cheyenne Clay Bender whom he married April 29, 2021 in Lucasville; his children, Kaysin James Bender, Xzavier Caudill, and Elizabeth Caudill, all at home; his grandparents, Dave and Linda Bender of Lucasville, Diana Kritzwiser of Lucasville; his mother-in-law, Michelle Clay of Lucasville; two brothers, Jeremy Mosley and Isaac Pertuset both of Portsmouth; his sister, Avasa Pertuset of Portsmouth; many loving aunts, uncles, and brothers and sisters-in-law.

Visitation will be held 11:30 am until 1:30 pm Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at the McKinley Funeral Home in Lucasville. Graveside services will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery in Portsmouth with Rodney Babst officiating.
