Craig Richard “Rick” Sturgell

Craig Richard “Rick” Sturgell, 70, of McDermott, formerly of Lucasville, passed away Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at his residence.

He was born October 24, 1953 in Portsmouth, a son of the late Robert and Irene Euton Sturgell.

Rick was a retired truck driver from the Scioto County Engineer’s Road Department, a Northwest High School graduate, and a long time member of the Gahm’s Racing Team.

He was also preceded in death by his granddaughter, Cassandra Boyd; and his  sister, Vicky Sturgell.

Rick is survived by his daughters, Alice (Eric) Mayo of Orlando, FL and Rachel (Doug) Avery of McDermott; one son, Luke (Amanda) Lilly of Columbus; six grandchildren, Taylor Carter, Emma Sammons, Ella Sammons, Madlyne Mayo, Audry Mayo, and Collin Mayo; his brother, Robert (Donna) Sturgell; and his sister, Rebecca (Randy) Crabtree of McDermott.

Visitation will be held 11:30 until 1 p.m. Saturday, November 18, 2023 at the McKinley Funeral Home in Lucasville. Graveside services will follow in Garvin Cemetery with George Vastine officiating.
