John Clark Dupuy Sr.

John Clark Dupuy Sr., 69, of Portsmouth, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 5, 2023 at SOMC Hospice, surrounded by his loving wife and family. He was born September 1, 1954 in Portsmouth, to the late Paul H. and Betty (Clark) Dupuy Sr.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Paul H. Dupuy Jr.

John was a 1973 graduate of Portsmouth High School and was employed by Norfolk and Southern as an engineer for 37 years, he was a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason, a member of the Aurora Lodge 48 of Portsmouth, member of the El Hasa Shriners, member of the American Legion, James Dickey Post #23, member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, and a member of the Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by his wife, Greta (Shope) Dupuy, children; Jodi Dickerson (Michael), Dr. John Clark DuPuy (Dr. Shawn), Robert James Rawlins (Crystal), Dr. Joseph Andrew DuPuy (Tiffany), Dr. James Robert DuPuy (Rachel), Lonnie Chadd Thompson (Maria), his two sisters, Laura Sparks (Stephen) and Karen DuPuy, his mother-in-law, Kathy Cooper, and a sister-in-law, Rhonda DuPuy.

He is also survived by his grandchildren that he thought the world of, Alex, Olivia, Syerra, Selina, Robert, Madison, Bella, Miller, Boone, Vincent, Lucia, Anna, Liam, two great-grandchildren, Princeton and Noah, and numerous cousins and life long friends.

A Celebration of Life will from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M, Sunday, November 12, 2023 at Melcher Hammer Funeral Home in Portsmouth, followed by a Masonic Service at 6:00 P.M.

In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be made to Hospice of Portsmouth, in memory of John.
