Julia Eileen Cook

Julia Eileen Cook, 84, of West Portsmouth, formerly of McDermott, passed away Sunday, October 8, 2023 at Bridgeport 360 in Portsmouth. She was born August 17, 1939 in McDermott, a daughter of the late Hartzel and Sally Cooper Breech. Julia was homemaker, former employee of Mitchellace, and a State Certified Nurses Aide. She attended Old Town United Methodist Church in West Portsmouth. She was also preceded in death by her husbands, Dean Ray Norman, February 24, 1997, and Elmer Cook, September 10, 2020; great great-grandson, Grayson Dean; three brothers, Paul, Harold, and Hartzell Breech; two sisters, Wanda Warren and Doris Moore; and son-in-law, William Selvage. Julia is survived by her daughter, Deana K. Norman of Lucasville; her son, James Dean (Summer) Norman of Waverly; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and three great great-grandchildren; two step-children, Andy Cook of Dayton and Jenny Yazell of South Webster; three brothers, Virgil Breech of Lucasville, Albert and Ronald Breech, both of McDermott; and one sister, Georgia Royster of McDermott.   Visitation will be held 12:30 until 2 p.m. Friday, October 13, 2023 at the McKinley Funeral Home in Lucasville. Graveside services will follow in Scioto Burial Park in McDermott with Geroge Vastine officiating.
