David Abner Reed

David Abner Reed, 58 of Lucasville, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, Wednesday, August 23, 2023, at University of Cincinnati Medical Center.

He was born January 15, 1965, in Portsmouth, a son of Rosemary White Reed of Lucasville and the late Ronald “Don” Reed.

David was a Handyman and did maintenance for the McKinley Funeral Home in Lucasville and was a 1983 Valley High School graduate.

He was also preceded in death by one sister, Deborah Reed; and three brothers, Kenny, Ronnie, and Jeff Reed.

David is also survived by the love of his life for over 20 years, Shelly Grimshaw; two daughters, Chrissy (Quinton) Pratt of Lawrenceville, GA and Adrian (Lionel) Ross of Powder Springs, GA; one sister, Kathy (Kevin) Fickert of Jackson;  his grandchildren, Abigail, Ethan, and Micah; multiple fur babies; his loving nieces and nephews, Teresa (Tim) Powell, Matt (Brandi) Reed, Chris (Lindsay) Reed, Rachel Reed; and several great nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, August 26, 2023 at the McKinley Funeral Home in Lucasville with Sherman “Bud” Mefford officiating. Burial will follow in Scioto Burial Park. Friends may call Saturday from 11:30 until the funeral hour.
