Virginia Lee Phipps

Virginia Lee Phipps, 91, of Wheelersburg, passed away Thursday August 17, 2023. She was born August 17, 1932 in Rome Township, OH, a daughter of the late John and Marie (White) Workman.

She was a homemaker. a seamstress, enjoyed playing tennis, loved the beach and loved her lawn and flowers.

Virginia is survived by three sons, Darryl Phipps of Wheelersburg, Robin Phipps and wife Kim of Wheelersburg, Dwayne Phipps and wife Tami of Lucasville; one daughter, Merryn Weaver and husband Terry of Timmonsville, SC; two sisters, Myrtle Turley of Proctorville and Erma Larimer and husband Tom of Florida; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Curtis W. Phipps, five sisters, Lucille Walters, Alta Scarberry, Flossie Boster, Rosemary Swayne, Charlotte Burchman and a daughter-in-law, Connie Phipps.

Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM Monday August 21, 2023 at D.W. SWICK FUNERAL HOME in Wheelersburg with Pastor Brian Baer officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 12 Noon to 2 PM Monday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Rubyville Community Church Youth Group.
