Linnie Marie (Lemaster) Riggs
Linnie Marie (Lemaster) Riggs, 82, of Rubyville, OH went home to be with the Lord on August 12, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. A daughter of the late Hasten and Genoa (Farley) Lemaster. Linnie was born on August 24, 1940. She married the love of her life, Thomas Riggs, on January 13, 1959. She was a proud Navy wife of 20 years, settling down in Rubyville after retirement. They had three sons Thomas Anthony Riggs, Terry Robin Riggs, and Troy Fitzgerald Riggs.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Thomas A. Riggs, and siblings Loretta Geraldine Zorns, Robert Eugene Lemaster, Paul Monroe Lemaster, Billie Joe Lemaster, Lovel Maxine Sniff, and Anna Louise Williamson.
Linnie is survived by her sons Terry Robin Riggs and wife Julie (Lucasville, OH) and Troy Fitzgerald Riggs and wife Barb (Ashland) KY; brother Kenneth Roosevelt and Phyllis Lemaster (Ashland, KY); and sister Laura Francis Benner (Lucasville, OH); grandchildren Brandy and Grant Literal; Amber and Eric Owens; Natasha Ward; Valerie and Brandon Hale; Ryan Riggs; Robin Renee Riggs; Brittany Tarantino. Great-grandchildren Bryce Davis; Sierra Literal; Serenity, Sydnie, and Felix (Foxie) Stewart; Michael Riggs; Kayleigh Justice; Aiden and Isabella Holbrook; Gannon Gilliam; Bradley and Isaiah Hale. Great-great grandchild Kason Riggs; and many special nieces and nephews.
Linnie was a member of Christ Brethren Church in Rubyville. She never hesitated to share God’s word and would often say there was no such thing as a stranger. They were just brothers and sisters you hadn’t yet met. Linnie never sought credit when doing various deeds the Lord called her to do. She was a servant to all. She always had a testimony ready to share. She led her Christian life by example. She taught her family and others what it means to walk daily with the Lord. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, cooking huge meals, reading her Bible, and writing Christian poems and songs. She had a wonderful sense of humor with spontaneous laughter. Her footprint was not only seen and felt, but it will ripple through our family as we pick up the baton and carry on without her. All who knew her will greatly miss her this side of Heaven. We rejoice for we know this is not goodbye. We will see you soon. Linnie endured until God called her home. She will hear those precious words, “Well done, My good and faithful servant.” One could best sum up her life with Mark 12:30-31 ESV, “And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” There is no other commandment greater than these.
Funeral services will be conducted at Noon Wednesday, August 16, 2023 at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford with Pastor Jimmy Dummitt officiating. Burial will be at Universal Cemetery in Rubyville. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
