Jayson Stephen McGraw

Jayson Stephen McGraw, 18, of West Portsmouth, passed away Monday, November 28, 2022, at SOMC in Portsmouth. He was born May 19, 2004, in Portsmouth, a son of LaToya E. Cave and Jayson Ryan McGraw, who survive.

Jayson was a 2022 Portsmouth West High School graduate and he had attended the Scioto County Career Technical Center for one year. He had worked for LJ’s Traffic Control as a flagger and he was baptized at Calvary Baptist Church. Jayson enjoyed camping and hiking, but, more than anything, he loved to spend time with his many close friends.

Surviving is his mother, LaToya E. (Jeremy James Diller) Cave of Stout; father, Jayson Ryan McGraw of Portsmouth; four siblings, Jayla L. McGraw of Portsmouth, Ashayla L. Adia of Stout, Abigail McGraw of Portsmouth and Kayden Ryan McGraw and his mother, Tiffany, of Portsmouth; a special aunt and uncle who helped rear him, Amanda Cave and Clint Askew of Portsmouth; aunts & uncles, Dawnrica “Nikki” Greene of New Boston, Ashley McGraw and Brian (Amanda) McGraw; grandparents, Angla L. “Madear” Leatherman of Portsmouth, Ruby McGraw of West Portsmouth and Mona & Jim Diller of Minford; great-grandfather, James Parker of Portsmouth; great-grandmother, Jean McGraw of West Portsmouth; special cousins, Darius Greene, Messina Askew and Sienna Askew, and several other cousins; and a large group of very special friends including Kayla Ward, Eli Adkins, Max Cyrus, Ethan Cole, Austin Spriggs, Heather Mills, Trey Williams, Dakota Smith, Hayden Yerardi, Sean Bryant, Mack Cooper, Keegan Newman, Caleb Shepherd and Drew Smith.

Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Saturday at Christ’s Community Church with David Adkins, officiating and interment in Scioto Burial Park.

The family will receive friends Friday from 4 to 7 P.M. at the Ralph F. Scott Funeral Home in Portsmouth and at the church Saturday from 10 to 11 A.M.
