James Roy Bentley
James Roy Bentley, 75 of Lloyd, Kentucky passed away Nov. 9, 2022 in U.K. Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky. He was born in Load, Kentucky, July 31, 1947, a son of the late Ermon Herbert Bentley and Ines Morris Bentley. He loved playing bingo, watching Gunsmoke and the Andy Griffith Show, spending time with his family and friends.
Preceded in death besides his parents are one son, Terry Pruitt, eight brothers, John Marvin, Willie Lee, Paul, Daniel, Jerry David, Frank, Herbert and Matthew, six sisters, Renda Ann Lykins, Fronia May Brown, Geneva Cate, Rose Lee Bush, Susie Bentley and Sherlie Bentley.
Surviving are his wife Linda Ann Geddis Bentley, one daughter, Jerrie Barnett of Greer, South Carolina, two brothers, Moses Bentley of Yukon, Oklahoma, Vonnie Bentley of Alexandria, Kentucky, two sisters, Bernice (Jim) Cornette of Milford, Delaware and Glenda Curry of Flatwoods, Kentucky, two grandchildren, Kevin and Ian Barnett, niece and nephews he helped raise, Jackie Keith Geddis, David Lee Geddis and Debra Diane Gosnell and a host of extended family and friends who will miss him.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 13, 2022 at the Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore, Kentucky. Burial will follow in the Moses Bentley Cemetery, Load, Kentucky. Friends may call at the funeral home from 12 a.m. till the service hour at 2 p.m. on Sunday.
