Emma Louise Brown

Emma Louise Brown, 103 of West Portsmouth, passed away Wednesday, November 2, 2022, at SOMC Hospice.

She was born December 17, 1918, in McDermott, a daughter of the late Ollie and Anna Crabtree Altman.

Emma was a retired cook for the former Mercy Hospital and was a 1938 McDermott High School graduate.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jess Brown in 1991; one daughter, Yvonne Wood; one son, Charles Wood; brothers, Ray, Virgil, Chris, and Larry Altman; and one sister, Lena Spriggs.

Emma is survived by two daughters, Ida Chambliss of Lucasville, and Phyllis Ross of Ashtabula, OH: many grandchildren; many greatgrandchildren; and many great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Evelyn Robinson.

Funeral services will be conducted at noon, Tuesday, November 8, 2022, at Christ’s Restoration Branch Church on Pine Lane, Lucasville with Don Mottashed and Mike Chaffin officiating. Burial will follow in Rushtown Cemetery. Friends may call 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the McKinley Funeral Home in Lucasville and an hour prior to the service Tuesday at the church.
