Fay Fern Beekman

Homemaker and retired pre-school aide Fay Fern Beekman left her earthly home on November 5, 2022 at the age of 86,  following her courageous battle with Parkinson’s Disease. She was surrounded by her family and dear friends. Her kind spirit and loving heart for those in her life will be a legacy her family will remember and honor by living their lives inspired by her example.

Fern attended the Elm Grove Church of Christ for many years where she was active in Ladies Club and summer Bible School programs. In 2010 Fern retired from Noah’s Ark preschool where she worked as a cook and classroom aide. She shared her love with many young children. Fern was an avid gardener, quilt maker, and spent many hours crocheting blankets. She crafted beautiful keepsakes for her family and friends to cherish for generations. Fern found beauty in the many flowers and trees she nurtured over many years and found pleasure in watching her babies grow up. All of the little Beekmans loved their grandma and auntie.

Fern is survived by her husband Billy, her two sons, Jeff (Rosemary) Beekman and Tim (Rhonda) Beekman, her grandchildren,  Mike, Andrea (Matt) Crace, Tim, and Josh, her great-grandchildren, Aiden & Isaac Beekman, Mack, Kaitlin, Rachel, Donlee and Charlee Fay & Hudson Crace. Fern is also survived by her sister, Orgie (Jim) Teeters and her brothers, Otis, Enoch and James Williams, her brother-in-law, John Arthur and wife Ruby and including numerous beloved nieces and nephews close to home and those close at heart.

Fern was born in Leslie County Kentucky, the daughter of Hezekiah and Pruda Williams. She moved to Pike County Ohio in the early fifties where she met her husband of 66 years Billy. Fern was preceded in death by her parents and four sisters, Pauline, Esther, Mary Rose and Irene. Fern will be dearly missed by her family and friends, she is irreplaceable.

Funeral services will by 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 9, 2022 at Botkin Hornback Funeral Home with Scott Judge Minister officiating.  Burial will follow in Locust Grove Cemetery in Peebles.  Family will receive friends on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
