Janet Ruth Montgomery

Janet Ruth Montgomery, 88, of Lucasville, passed away Saturday, October 29, 2022, at her residence.

She was born March 30, 1934, in Portsmouth, a daughter of the late Denver Gorden and Frances Sparks Fairchild.

Janet was a homemaker, member of the Big Run United Baptist Church and a member of the Red Hat Society.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Marion Montgomery, July 21, 1999; two sons, David and Bob Montgomery; and two daughters, Teresa Rouse and Debbie Montgomery.

Janet is survived by three boys, Duane Montgomery of Lucasville, Gary Montgomery of Wheelersburg, and Paul Montgomery of Lucasville; four daughters, Rhonda Montgomery of Portsmouth, Sharon Emmert of Lucasville, Regina Montgomery of Lucasville, and Denese Bowen of North Carolina; 16 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, November 4, 2022, at Big Run United Baptist Church with Marvin Carver, Kelly Carver, and Charles Montgomery officiating. Burial will follow in Big Run Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of the McKinley Funeral Home in Lucasville.
