Velma A. McManus

Velma A. McManus, 85, went home to be with the lord and her High School sweetheart, Tuesday September 13, 2022 at SOMC Hospice in Portsmouth, Ohio. Velma was born December 11, 1936 in Scioto County, Ohio to the late John & Anna (Shafer) Warner. Velma graduated from Portsmouth Clay High School in 1954 where she was Homecoming Queen. Velma was a homemaker and a loving sister, Mother, Grandmother, and Aunt.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Douglas R. McManus Sr., two sisters, Delores Conley and Judy Pack as well as one brother, John Warner.

Velma is survived by her sister Audrey Erwin; her children, Douglas Jr. (Sally) McManus, LuAnn (Scott) Shelby; her grandchildren, AJ (Brittany Bowers)McManus, LeighAnn James, Mary Joseph; her great grandchildren, Bryson, Macarious, Aingeal, Johnalynn, Dean;  one great great grandchild, Westyn; several nieces and nephews, and she was a special aunt to , Tim Erwin, Teresa Erwin, and Tracie Lewis.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 20, 2022 at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford with Brett McGraw officiating.
