Harold Eugene Craft
Harold Eugene Craft, 83, of Rubyville passed away Friday, July 8, 2022 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, OH. Born on April 11, 1939, in Portsmouth, he was a son of the late W. Donald and Helen Coriell Craft.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his children, LaDean Wright Craft.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy McCallister DeLotelle Craft of Rubyville, whom he married on November 11, 1994; a son, Kevin (Cindy) Craft of Rubyville; four daughters, Angie Craft of Westerville, OH, Sharon (Chris) Oyer of Chillicothe, OH, Lisa Cooper of Portsmouth, Amy (Joe) Fraley of Granville, OH; and one sister, Janet (Jim) Wood of Monroe Township, New Jersey.
He will be missed by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Justin (Jordyn) Craft and sons Cooper and Logan of Miamisburg, OH, Eric Freauf of Portsmouth, Derek (Charisa) Oyer of Chillicothe, OH, Brooke (Chad) Freauf and daughter Lyric of Sciotoville, Allison (Julio) Gutierrez and son Kobe of Chillicothe, OH, Lily Fraley and Jace Fraley of Granville, OH.
Harold graduated from Clay High School in 1957. Following graduation, he went to work full-time with his father Donald at Craft’s Cabinet Shop. In the early 1970’s the business changed to Craft’s Custom Kitchens where he worked until he retired in 2011. He was a member of Rubyville Community Church and served his community as a member of the Clay Local Board of Education from 1978-1985.
Beyond business and family, he loved southern gospel and bluegrass music, NASCAR, and Indy Car racing, watching and feeding birds, traveling, and eating. He had a special bond with his pet dogs through the years. He will be remembered by all as a soft spoken, kind, gentle man and a great husband, father, and papaw.
A celebration of Harold’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 13, 2022, at Rubyville Community Church with pastors Calvin Ray Evans and Brian Baer officiating. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Wheelersburg. Friends may call at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford on Tuesday, July 12, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the church.
