William “Bill” Francis Strickland

William “Bill” Francis Strickland, 80, of McDermott, passed away Monday, June 27, 2022, at SOMC Hospice.

He was born August 7, 1941, in McDermott a son of the late Roy and Millie Hilt Strickland.

Bill was a retired laborer from OSCO Industries.

He was also preceded in death by his wife, Betty Burton Strickland, September 18, 2018; children, Angel Lynn, Andrea, and Preston; grandson, Josh Spriggs; two brothers, Edwin and Jim Strickland; and two sisters, Sarah “Sadie” Colley and Edna Warren.

Bill is survived by his children, Lorrie Bolen of St. Albans, WV, Cheryl Toppings of Columbus, Debbie, Kim, and Misty; several grandchildren; several great grandchildren; two brothers, Ross Strickland and Tom Strickland both of McDermott; and four sisters, Virginia Crabtree, Violet Shope, Millie Walker of McDermott, and Delores Clifford of Sabina, OH; and brother-in-law, Kenneth Burton of Fort Myers, FL.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, July 1, 2022, in Rushtown Cemetery with George Vastine officiating. Friends may call 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the McKinley Funeral Home in Lucasville.
