Barbara Lou Messer

Barbara Lou Messer, 68, of Portsmouth, died Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at her home with her family by her side. She was born March 28, 1954 in Mount Sterling, OH to the late Faro and Dorothy (Madden) Messer.

She was a Nurse Aid having worked many years at Mercy Hospital. Barbara attended the Lily Chapel church of Christ, and loved reading and working crossword puzzles, liked to go play Bingo, and above all, loved her children and adored her grandchildren.

Barbara is survived by her life companion, Vincent Anderson of Portsmouth, her two children, Zachary Messer (Brittany) of McDermott and Amy Messer (Angel Smith) of West Portsmouth, her four grandchildren; Devin, Darian, Halie, and Emma, and three great-grandchildren; Jesslynn, Jayce, and Zariana.

Funeral Services will be private and are under the direction of Melcher Hammer Funeral Home in Portsmouth.
