Robert F. Carter

Robert F. Carter, 85, of Dutch Ridge Road, Portsmouth, passed away Saturday, May 7, 2022 at his residence. He was born October 11, 1936 in Portsmouth, a son of the late George Earl and Clydia Tressa Stamper Carter and was a carpenter and worked out of the Laborer’s Union.

He is survived by four sons, Robert H. Carter, John and the late Anita Carter, Scott  (Danielle) Carter, Kevin (Stephanie) Carter; two daughters, Teri Bowling, Sandy (David) Rader; grandchildren, Justin (Stormy) Carter, Joshua Carter and 15 additional grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great great grandchildren, and one sister, Delana Bolten.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Zepha Mae Carter on July 12, 2016 whom he married May 27, 1953; a daughter, Janie Bailey; two grandchildren; one brother, Charles Carter, two brothers as infants, and three sisters, Eilene Adkins, Georgetta Arnett, Emmagene Pettit.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford. Friends may call at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. prior to the service on Wednesday. Online condolences may be sent to www.edafh.com.
