William “Boyd” Williams
Dear family, friends and fans,
We are very sad to announce the passing of William “Boyd” Williams on Saturday April 23, 2022 at the age of 73, following a long battle with kidney disease. He joined his Heavenly Home peacefully in the company of his children, Shae Craft, and Nick and Emily Williams at the Community Hospice Center in Ashland, KY. He was a loving father, big brother to five siblings, a lifelong entertainer and loyal friend.
He was known to many for his musical abilities, which brought him the company of some of the best-known artists in the industry, including Fleetwood Mac, BB King, Seals and Crofts, Bruce Springsteen, Chet Atkins, Black Sabbath, Etta James, John Lee Hooker, Toto, Larry Gatlin and the Gatlin Brothers and many others. He was once called a “Musical Genius”. His talents spanned from lead bass and acoustic guitar, drums, banjo, harmonica and the keyboard.
Boyd is survived by his five siblings: Ed (Laura), Tony (Connie) and Teddy (Debbie) Williams, Linda Tilden (Mark), Debbie Hacker (Mark) and many grandchildren whom he loved dearly.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at D.W. SWICK FUNERAL HOME in Wheelersburg, OH from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
