Marvin Allen Workman

Marvin Allen Workman, 84, of Chillicothe, Ohio went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at Adena Regional Medical Center.  He was born May 14, 1937 in Kenova, West Virginia to the late Rev. Andrew and Elizabeth Brown Workman.  On May 14, 1968 he was united in marriage to the late Mary Gilliland Workman.

Surviving are two sisters, Bonnie (Marvin) Bapst and Joyce (Bud) Keibler; numerous nieces and nephews, and very special friends, Roger Taylor and Bill Sickles.  In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by a sister, Freda Arbaugh and brothers, Elmer Ray, Clarence and Charles Workman.

Marvin served four years in the United States Navy.  He was retired from Mead Paper Mill of Chillicothe.  He attended the New Hope Freewill Baptist Church of Chillicothe.  Marvin loved going to the car shows and owned classic cars for which he won many trophies.  He also enjoyed spending time with family, traveling and spending time in the Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, Tennessee area.  His favorite place to eat was Huck Finns which he called The Catfish House.

Funeral services will be held at 11 am Saturday, April 30, 2022 at Botkin Hornback Funeral Home in Waverly with Pastor Mitch Salyers officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Union Cemetery on Denver Rd.  The family will receive friends from 4 – 7 pm Friday, April 29th and for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
