Margaret Opal (Koch) Wallace
Margaret Opal (Koch) Wallace 91, of McDermott passed away peacefully at SOMC Hospice.
Margaret was born in Portsmouth, Ohio on July 27, 1930. She was the daughter of the late Edgar and Sylvia Shultz Koch.
She was retired and had previously worked at Williams Shoe Factory, and the Holiday Inn on Scioto Trail. Margaret was a graduate of McDermott High School, class of 1948.
She had a strong Christian belief, was of Methodist faith, and knew Jesus Christ as her personal savior. Margaret was a loving, caring, and devoted wife, mother, and granny. She enjoyed spending time with her son and daughters. She enjoyed going to yard sales and loved watching her birds, her animals, and looking at the moon.
She was also preceded in death by her husband Jim Wallace, whom she married in Indiana on May 7, 1957; a daughter, Holly Thompson: a great-grandson, Dartanian Michael Wallace; a sister, Violet Koch Harwood; and two brothers, Ray Koch and Paul Koch.
Margaret is survived by her son, Jimmie Wallace of McDermott; one daughter, Linda (Joe) Koenig of McDermott; and son-in-law, George Thompson; seven grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. She had many nieces and a nephew that she loved dearly.
Funeral services will be conducted at noon, Friday, April 22, 2022, at the McKinley Funeral Home in Lucasville with Kenton Powell officiating. Burial will follow in Rushtown Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and one hour prior to the service Friday.
