Virginia Ruth Swords Moore

Virginia Ruth Swords Moore, 76 of Blue Creek died Saturday February 26, 2022 at her home. She was born May 19, 1945 on Odle Creek to the late Harry and Jane Ratliff Swords.

Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Homer Moore whom she married on October 23, 1961, a son Rober J. Moore, 2 brothers: Everett Swords and Wootz Cooper, 2 sisters: Ada Wear and Gladys Swords and a special nephew Jimmy Wear.

Virginia is survived by a son Kevin Lee (Pam) Moore, 4 daughters: Becki (Anthony) Hoffer, Pamela Fay Moore, Lisa (Steve) Davis, Tracy (Glenn) Crawford, 3 brothers: Carl, Donald and James Swords, a sister Cathy Penix, 11 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Thursday March 3, 2022 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with David Sibole officiating and interment in Worley’s Run Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 8:00 PM on Wednesday and one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
