Timothy Lee Mathis

Timothy Lee Mathis, 68, of Wheelersburg, passed away Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at home. Timothy was born March 14, 1953 in Portsmouth to the late Arthur Mathis and Stella Buchanan Mathis. Timothy owned and operated Tim’s Body Shop for 50 years. When he had spare time, he loved to drag race cars and fish. In addition to his parents, Timothy was preceded in death by a sister, Marcella Mathis and a granddaughter, Sophiah. Timothy is survived by his wife, Cathleen Cecile Carpenter Mathis whom he married March 14, 2015, in Wheelersburg, after a 25-year engagement. He is also survived by four sons, Gregory Alan Mathis, (Kamesha), Christopher Lee Mathis, (Lauren), Nathan Paul Mathis, (Theresa) and Clayton Cecil Carpenter; two daughters, Melinda Jean Sutherland, (Paul) and Amy Sue Mathis; a sister, Jackie Ward; ten grandchildren, Shania, Sammy, Tristan, Norah-Jean, Joey, Tate, Kamryn, Justis, Anastasia and Lilly and a great granddaughter, Oakley Grace.

Services for Timothy will be 3:00 pm Sunday, February 6, 2022 at Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home in Wheelersburg with Pastor Dean Thompson officiating.
