Ermaline Gardner, aged 97, passed away on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 in Columbus, Ohio. She was born July 23, 1924 in Serpent Mound, Ohio, daughter of the late Elza Richard Wallace and Mildred Lucille Jones Wallace. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 64 years Earl Ray Gardner, her daughter Deborah Gardner, her grandson Jeremy Maggard Sr, her sisters and their husbands Dorothy (Allen) Oaks, Vivian (Gabe) Highers, Betty (Harrison) Bussell, andVirginia (Robert) Newman, and a daughter in law Emily James Gardner. She was also preceded in death by two nieces Joie Bussell and Pandora Bussell.
She is survived by her sons Michael Gardner of Piketon, Stephen (Susan) Gardner of Columbus, and her daughter Pamela Gardner Pate of Columbus with whom she lived. Also surviving are grandchildren Michelle Pate, Christy (Raymundo) Pate Arias, Trinity Dyer all of Columus, and Nicholas (Paula) Simmons of Beaver, Brandon (Robyn) Gardner of Columbus, Mike’s daughters Carla (Barney), Heidi (Darren), Rebecca (Chad). Great grandchildren that shared their home in Columbus with her Cherub Dyer, Urban Dyer, Mercedes Germany. Also surviving are her great grandsons Raymundo Arias of Columbus, Lucas Simmons of Beaver, J.D. Maggard, Sammy (Katherine) Maggard, Jerry Powers of Gallipolis, Phillip Meddock of Piketon, Damian Maggard of Piketon; her great granddaughters Sierra Simmons and Nevaeh Simmons of Beaver, Alyssa Miller of Peebles, Deanna (Adam) Roberts and son of Portsmouth, Emily Meddock Snyder and husband Ian of Piketon. Great great grandson Hunter Maggard of Waverly. Great great granddaughters Braylyn Maggard of Waverly and Olivia Snyder of Piketon. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Sunday, January 23, 2022 at Botkin Hornback Funeral Home with Pastor Doug Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in Mustard Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Sunday from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
