Loretta Jean Phipps

Loretta Jean Phipps, 86, of Chillicothe, formerly of Lucasville, passed away Thursday, January 13, 2022, at her daughter’s residence in Chillicothe.

She was born November 3, 1935, in Lucasville, a daughter of the late Orville and Carrie Carver Strickland.

Jean was a homemaker and member of God and Country Church in Lucasville.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Troy Phipps, November 21, 2014; infant daughter, Molly Phipps; three brothers, Charles “Bunt” Strickland, Dick Strickland, and Harry Strickland; and one sister, Helen Hurst.

Jean is survived by her daughter, Judy Ann Panek of Chillicothe; her son, Ben (Diana) Phipps of Lucasville; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren; two brothers, Roger Strickland of Lucasville and Ted Strickland of Columbus; and two sisters, Shirley Ralstin and Betty Jenkins, both of Lucasville.

Funeral services will be conducted 6 p.m. Wednesday, January 19, 2022, at the McKinley Funeral Home in Lucasville with her loving cousin, Philip Carver officiating. Friends may call Wednesday from 3 p.m. until the funeral hour at the funeral home.
