Robert C. Will, 88, of Minford, passed away Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at his residence. Born August 5, 1933 in Sciotoville, a son of the late Frank and Bessie Rice Will, he was a 1951 East High School graduate, charter member of Jefferson Township Fire Department, former employee of Empire Detroit Steel for several years, a member of Ashland Iron Workers #769, where he was the oldest surviving member. Bob was a member of Fairview Missionary Baptist Church and was former Word of Life Youth Leader at Grace Baptist Church for 10 years.
He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Sylvia Torges Will; four daughters, Laurel (Gerald) DeAtley, Miriam (Randy) Richardson, Tamara Daroczy, Sharon Newsome; one son, Jon (Andrea) Will; seventeen grandchildren, Craig DeAtley, Shawn DeAtley, Seth DeAtley, Brandon DeAtley, Tyler DeAtley, Cory Richardson, Cara Bower, Annie Jacobs, Adam Daroczy, Andrew Daroczy, Annalise Daroczy, Kyle Newsome, Kurt Newsome, Matthew Will, Mark Will, Sam Will, Ben Will; sixteen great grandchildren, and one brother, Raymond (Betty) Will. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Teresa Price; one brother, Frank “Bud” Will. The family would like to give special thanks to SOMC Hospice nurse Leslie and PCM nurses Rebecca, Pam, and Ann for their special care.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 9, 2022 at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford with Pastor Tim Palla officiating. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Portsmouth. Friends may call at the funeral home from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Sunday and one hour prior to the service on Monday.
