Wanda Dene Smith

Wanda Dene Smith, 78, of Wheelersburg, passed away Saturday, November 6, 2021 at her home. Wanda was born July 16, 1943 in Portsmouth to the late Ernest and Hazel Bush Claxon. She had been employed at South Webster Schools as a cook and attended Wheelersburg Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Wanda was preceded in death by her brothers, Gary, Johnny and Ernie Claxon and her sisters, Anna Lou, in infancy and Lois Sweeney. Wanda is survived by a son, Vincent (Joyce) Smith; a daughter, Amy Smith; a brother, Paul Claxon; a sister, Kathi Craft; three grandchildren, Rebecca, Heather and Jacqueline and twelve great grandchildren, who lovingly called her Mamaw onion.

Visitation and services for Wanda will be 5:00-7:00 pm Friday, November 12, 2021 at Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home in Wheelersburg. Interment will be at the convenience of the family. Condolences to the family may be made at www.harrison-pyles.com.
