Marsha Jo Scott
Marsha Jo Scott, 79, of Sciotodale, passed away Tuesday, October 5, 2021. She was born March 10, 1942 in Portsmouth, Ohio, a daughter of the late Richard and Geneva (Knauff) Webb.
Marsha was a 1960 graduate of Portsmouth East High School. In her youth, she was an avid tennis player. While raising her first two sons, Craig and Todd, and while pregnant with her third son, Adam, Marsha simultaneously fulfilled a lifelong dream of becoming a nurse. She received her associate degree in nursing from Shawnee State Community College, a remarkable achievement. She went on to work at Scioto Memorial Hospital as well as local doctors’ offices.
Marsha was a beloved member of the Sciotoville Christian Church nearly her entire life. She loved playing the piano there for many years. She was a faithful servant of the Lord and is now in His loving arms.
All the qualities that made her an outstanding nurse – compassion, caring and kindness – also made her a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, daughter, friend and colleague. She had a sweet and generous nature.
Marsha loved her family, most especially her grandchildren, very much. As her grandson Lucas said, “Grandparents are one of the most important people in our lives. Nanny did everything for us. We will hold her in our hearts forever.”
She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Roy “Pat” Scott; three sons: Craig (Kris) Bahner of Portage, Michigan, Todd (Christy) Bahner of Wheelersburg, Ohio, and Adam (Amy) Scott of Union, Kentucky; two step-sons: J.P. Scott of Texas, and Brian (Beverly) Scott of Florida; and step-daughter Denise (Mike) Scott Miller of Georgetown, Ohio. She adored her twelve grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Marsha was proceeded in death by her sister, Andrea Barnhart.
Marsha’s legacy is the lives she touched and the love she left for those around her.
