Thelma Lucille Carver

Thelma Lucille Carver, 80, of Otway, passed away Thursday, October 7, 2021, at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, KY.

She was born April 9, 1941, in Portsmouth, a daughter of the late Emory and Louvena Howard Phipps.

Thelma was a private caregiver for several people in the area and a member of the Big Run United Baptist Church.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Frank Carver, 1988; and one granddaughter, Amey.

Thelma is survived by two daughters, Vivian (Komen) Vatjanavarant of Otway, Nora Lovena Carver of Otway; four sons, Noland (Sherry) Carver of Florida, Frank (Carol) Carver of Columbus, Emory (Lori) Carver of Otway, and Mark Carver of Otway; seven grandchildren, Andrea (Nate), Lee, Nicole (Tyler), Alexis, Cody, Tiffany (Christine) and Dusti (Jared); and three great-grandchildren, Noland, Roarke, and Liberty Timberlake.

Funeral services will be conducted at noon, Wednesday, October 13, 2021, at the Big Run United Baptist Church with Marvin Carver and Arvil Murray Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Big Run Cemetery. Friends may call after 5 p.m. Tuesday at the church until the funeral hour Wednesday.
