Candace Diane Harness

Candace Diane Harness, 68, of Minford, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, September 23, 2021, at the SOMC Hospice Center with her loving family by her bedside.  Born on August 8, 1953 in Portsmouth, she was a daughter of the late William and Mary Davidson Allen and attended Fairview Missionary Baptist Church in Minford.

Candace was a former paramedic for Portsmouth Ambulance as a caring person, and her passion was helping save lives.

Also preceding her in death were a brother, Mark Allen, and a sister, Gale Baker.

Surviving are a son, Billy (Susan) Summers of Minford; two daughters, Robin (Marvin) Slusher of Minford and Tiffany (Thomas II) Kinker of South Webster; five grandchildren, Emily Summers, Megan Summers, Ethan Slusher, Thomas “Teak” Kinker III and Tenley Kinker and three step-grandchildren, Laura Slusher, Aaron Slusher and Brandon Slusher.

A service will be held on Friday, October 1st, at Fairview Missionary Baptist Church with Tim Palla officiating.  Interment will be in Sunset Memory Gardens.

The family will receive guests at the church after 10:00 a.m. on Friday.

Candace’s family wish to publicly thank the caring staff at the Southern Ohio Medical Center and SOMC Hospice Center for their care and compassion.  Truly remarkable persons.
