John Henry Hoskins

John Henry Hoskins of Fort Myers, Florida passed away on Friday, August 27, 2021. John was born and raised in Portsmouth, Ohio (Sciotoville) and was the only child to John and Mildred Hoskins. John graduated from Portsmouth East high school in June 1954. After graduation he enlisted into the United States Air Force for pilot training. It was January 1955 where he would begin what would be a 20 year career in the United States Air Force as a fighter pilot, retiring as Major John Hoskins in 1975. John is survived by his loving wife, Shirley, one daughter; Yvonne Hoskins; daughter-in-law Kathleen Hoskins; two grandsons Michael and Tyler Hoskins; stepchildren Greg White, Rick White, Beth White, Kevin White (and his wife,Terri). John also leaves behind many step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren. John was also preceded in death by his son, John “Michael” Hoskins. (2013). Thank you for loving all of us and for your service to our country. John’s final resting place will be at Arlington National Cemetery.
