Alva Slone

Alva Slone, 83, of Orlando, FL formerly of Scioto Furnace passed away Saturday, September 4, 2021, at Cornerstone Hospice.  He was born in Hammond, KY January 8, 1938, to the late Jasper and Effie (Sloan) Slone.

Alva is survived by three sisters, Melvie Slone of Garner, KY, Irene Reed of Mentor, OH, and Nadine Monroe of Orlando, FL; one brother, Corbett Slone of Kentucky; and several nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Elsie Gayhart Slone; stepchildren, Clevestine Cline and John Edwards; sister, Ruthie Prater; and three brothers,  Luther Slone, Burton Slone and Delmas Slone.

A funeral service will be held Friday, September 10, 2021 at D.W. SWICK FUENRAL HOME in South Webster with Pastor Johnny Slone, Jr. officiating.  Friends may call from 12:00 (Noon) until 2:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.  Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Franklin Furnace.  Online condolences may be left at www.DWSwickFuneralHome.com.
