Beulah (Conley) Wells

Beulah (Conley) Wells, 97 of Lucasville passed away at Minford Retirement Center on September 4, 2021.

She was born June 30, 1924, in Mancelona, Michigan, a daughter of the late Jack and Olive Conley of Portsmouth. Beulah married Floyd “Doc” Wells in March 1942. Doc passed away in 2008 after 66 years of marriage.

Beulah was a 1942 graduate of Valley High School. She worked at both Selby Shoe Factory and Williams Shoe Factory in Portsmouth before starting a family. She was a wonderful homemaker, room mother, loved cooking, baking, gardening and working at her church. Above all, she loved spending time with her family. Beulah was a member of Millers Run Church.

Beulah is survived by her son, Kenneth (Helen) Wells of Portsmouth; four grandchildren, Rob Wells of Columbus, Many (Nathan) Schaffner of Louisville, Kentucky, Erica (Stanley) Hale of Groveport, and Tim Wells of Stout; and 9 great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by a son, Robert Clair Wells; two brothers, Tom and Ray Conley; and one sister, Edna Lewis.

The family would like to express our gratitude for all the love and care Minford Retirement has shown Beulah during the last 12 years.

There will be no visitation at Beulah’s request. A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family in Lucasville Cemetery under the direction of the McKinley Funeral Home in Lucasville.
