Virginia Frances Bliss

Virginia Frances Bliss,83, of McDermott, passed away Monday, August 23, 2021, at her residence.

She was born July 18, 1938 in Portsmouth, a daughter of the late Edward and Della Picklesimer Deemer.

Ginny was retired from the housekeeping department at the Chillicothe VA Medical Center, a member of 3:16 Ministries in Slocum Station, and a 1956 Northwest High School graduate. She was a former member of the William Baker American Legion Auxiliary.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Paul Leroy Bliss Jr., August 15 2017; one son, Timothy Moore; and two brothers, Larry and Jim Deemer.

Ginny is survived by two daughters, Barbara (Donald) Sheppard of Columbus and Kristy (Eric) Backs of Delaware, OH; five sons, Daniel (Sandra) Moore, Kenneth (Jennifer) Moore, Jeff (Brandy) Moore all of McDermott, Michael (Rhonda) Boyd of Lucasville, and Robert Young of Huntington; 18 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren; four sisters, Norma Stevenson of Colorado, Lou Schneider of McDermott, Marjorie Richey of Lucasville, and Beverly Bennington of Sciotoville.

A Memorial service will be conducted 6 p.m. Wednesday, August 25, 2021, at 3:16 Ministries at Slocum Station with Mark Bales officiating.  Friends may call from 5 p.m. till the service at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of the McKinley Funeral Home in Lucasville.
