Irene Williams
Irene Williams, “Granny”, of Lucasville, Ohio, passed away at the age of 97 on August 23, 2021, in her beloved daughter, Karen’s, house.
She was born April 30, 1924, in Knoxville, Tennessee, the daughter of William Henderson and Ethel Henderlight.
Irene was a joyful and Godly soul, who worshipped her heavenly Father, even on her last days. She was an active member of Community Bible Church in Lucasville, Ohio. She was also a member of Minford Homemakers and a proud ex-employee of Marting’s Dept. Store before entering her retirement.
Known to many as “Granny”, she spread love to all of those she encountered, and was truly a grandmother to everyone. She was kindhearted and a natural caretaker. She will always be known as the best mother, sister, grandmother, and great grandmother that has ever walked on the Earth.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband, Lawrence Catlett, whom she enjoyed 21 years of marriage with, along with her second husband, Charles Williams, whom she was a wonderful spouse to for 17 years, and two sisters, Margaret Taylor and Savannah Ballard, of Knoxville, Tennessee.
She is survived by her daughter, Karen Martin and husband, Arthur, of Ashland, Kentucky; her granddaughter, Carrie Ramer and husband Bradley, of South Vienna, Ohio; four great grandchildren who were her pride and joy, Jacob Yarnell, Cay Yarnell, Abigail Yarnell, and Ryanne Ramer, of South Vienna, Ohio; three sisters, Evon Claxton and Brenda Leek, of Knoxville, Tennessee and Lucille Mackay of Georgetown, Kentucky; and three brothers, Billy, Michael, and Beecher Henderson of Knoxville, Tennessee.
Funeral visitation will be Friday August 27, 2021 5-8pm at McKinley Funeral Home, 10617 US Hwy 23, in Lucasville, Ohio. The funeral will be 12pm August 28, 2021 at Community Bible Church with visitation for 1 hour prior. Burial to follow at Lucasville Cemetery, Lucasville, Ohio. In lieu of flowers or other gifts in memory of W. Irene Williams, donations to Community Bible Church or Community Hospice of Ashland, Kentucky will be accepted.
