Audrey Marie Moriarty

Audrey Marie Moriarty, 94 formerly of Portsmouth, went to be with the Lord on Monday August 2, 2021. She passed peacefully in her sleep while at Compass Healthcare and Rehab in Salisbury, North Carolina.

Born December 12, 1926, in Scioto County, to the late Orville Arthurs and Grace (Montgomery) Cheek. She was a member of the First Church of God in New Boston, Ohio and was a faithful member of the Lucasville chapter of the Eastern Star Lodge.

Married May 5, 1974, to Robert Moriarty, she was self-employed as a beautician working out of her home salon for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents, younger sister Nellie Adams, oldest daughter Linda Gilkerson, and her beloved husband Robert Moriarty.

She is survived by a daughter Paula Smith of Myrtle Beach SC; son-in-law Michael Gilkerson of Florida; Grandchildren Dawn (Chris) Adamek of Florida; Michael (Tanya) Gilkerson II of Florida; Lynda (Derek) Heintz of North Carolina; Brandi (Mike) Miller of Ohio; 10 Great grandchildren and 2 Great great grandchildren.

Grave side service and Eastern Star rites will be held on Thursday, August 19th, 2021, at 1:00 PM, at Scioto Burial Park McDermott, Ohio.
